Frequently asked questions.
1. Do I need to register before booking a session?
Yes — all dogs must complete our registration form and attend a Meet & Greet before joining regular play sessions. This helps us make sure Waggy is a great fit for your pup.
2. What happens at the Meet & Greet?
Your dog will spend about 20 minutes with our team in a calm, controlled setting. We assess how they respond to the environment, staff, and a few friendly dogs. You’re welcome to stay nearby — and we’ll always give honest feedback about how they go.
3. Do you take dogs of all sizes?
Yes! We are an open, mixed-play centre — dogs of all breeds and sizes play together under full supervision. This setup promotes natural socialisation but does require dogs to be well-socialised and non-reactive.
4. What if my dog is anxious, shy, or reactive?
We work with many dogs who are shy or anxious — in fact, that’s one of the reasons our Meet & Greet process is so important. It gives us the opportunity to calmly assess your dog’s comfort levels, discuss any concerns with you, and determine if daycare is the right environment for them.
While Waggy is a structured and well-supervised space, it may not suit every dog — particularly those with strong reactivity or high stress in group settings. We’re not an overcrowded or chaotic centre, which means we can often support dogs needing a bit of confidence-building. But every dog is different, and we’ll always prioritise their wellbeing.
We’ll provide honest feedback after the Meet & Greet and may recommend slower introductions or outside training support depending on your dog’s needs.
5. Can my puppy attend daycare?
Yes — as long as your puppy is over 17 weeks old and fully vaccinated, they can join. Daycare is a fantastic way to support their social development! We recommend speaking with your vet prior to booking a meet & greet.
6. Does my dog need to be desexed?
We assess each dog on a case-by-case basis. While many of our dogs are desexed, we do accept undesexed dogs provided they are not displaying unwanted behaviours such as dominance, excessive marking, aggression, or humping.
Please note: Females in heat/season are not permitted to attend under any circumstances.
Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care
7. Do you allow toys or personal items?
To prevent resource guarding and conflict, we don’t allow external toys or personal belongings in the play areas. Instead, we focus on structured play, enrichment, and social interaction under our team’s guidance.
8. What are your session times?
We’re open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
We offer:
Full Day: 7:00am–6:00pm
Half Day AM: 7:00am–12:30pm
Midday Session: 10:00am–3:00pm
Afternoon Session: 12:30am–6:00pm
*Session times are not fixed to full day or half days as long as drop off and pick up is within the allotted time, so if you wish to drop off after the start time or pick up before pick up that is absolutely fine
9. How do I book a session?
Once you’ve registered and completed the Meet & Greet, you’ll receive access to our online booking system. You can also use our app for easy scheduling, rescheduling, and tracking sessions.
10. Where are you located?
We’re based at 188 Nicklin Way, Warana on the Sunshine Coast. Easy access and plenty of parking!
